Radio
This is where you money will be best spent. Purchasing a good radio which can preform all the features you need and will be able to fly almost anything that fits you interests from parkflyers to helis.
The industry is moving away from 72 mhz to the new 2.4ghz systems. The 2.4ghz systems allow great range and no interference from other signals from other pilots or outside sources.
These radios have many model memories which allow you to fly all your planes all from the one radio. No need to have a different radio for each plane you own. (some ready to fly kits come with radios that can only be used to fly that certain airplane, cheaper at first, but costly in the long run.)
There are many choices available. One good choice is the Spektrum DX-6 or DX-7

We recommend the Carl Goldberg "Protege" as your first airplane. This trainer is a solid platform to learn on. Many advance fliers in our club still enjoy flying thier Protege's. The protege is available in a kit form that allows you to start developing your building skills. The Protege is also now available in a Almost Ready to Fly kit as well. (This plane will require a .60 size 2 stroke engine or a .63 4 stroke engine.)
Price is @ $85.00 for the kit & $194.00 Almost Ready to Fly

OS 61 FX Price is @ $164.00
